Former Ole Miss Coach Returns to SEC
Freeze Addresses Media, Signs 2023 Class
AUBURN, Ala. - Former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze has been named the 31st head football coach in Auburn's 129-year history, the university announced Tuesday.
Freeze was introduced to the media at a press conference held at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium. He addressed reporters, signed the 2023 recruiting class, and discussed his vision for the Tigers' football program.
Freeze, 53, has a 69-43 overall record as a head coach at the FBS level. He led Ole Miss to a 39-25 record from 2012-2016 before being fired in July 2017.
Freeze replaces Bryan Harsin, who was fired by Auburn on Oct. 31 after a 3-9 season. The Tigers went 6-7 in 2022 under interim head coach Cadillac Williams.
