County Assessor Values Property Significantly Less Than Trump

Judge questions Trump's Mar-a-Lago valuation

County assessor values property significantly less than Trump

Recent Forbes evaluation puts Mar-a-Lago's value at $350 million

A judge has questioned former President Donald Trump's valuation of his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach County, Florida. The county assessor had appraised the property's market value to be between $18 million and $276 million, while Trump valued Mar-a-Lago at between $426.5 million and $612 million, an overvaluation of at least $2.3 billion.

The county gives Mar-a-Lago its current value for taxation of $37 million based on its annual net operating income as a club, not on its resale value. According to Forbes' latest evaluation of the property in March, Mar-a-Lago is worth $350 million. In last year's tax rolls, Mar-a-Lago was assigned a total market value of $276 million. And although the 2022 rolls haven't been finalized, the county assessor's office has indicated that the property's value will likely remain similar.
