Hope Hicks to Testify in New York Hush Money Trial
Former Trump Aide Faces Questioning
Former Trump aide Hope Hicks is set to testify Friday in the New York hush money trial. Hicks was a longtime trusted aide in Trump's inner circle and served as White House communications director.
The prosecution's first witness, former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker, testified that he spoke directly with Hicks in 2018 about one of the hush money payments made to a former Playboy model who alleged an affair with Trump.
Expected to testify about her knowledge of former President Donald Trump's hush money payments to several women who alleged affairs with him. Hicks has not been charged with any crimes.
Hicks joined Trump's campaign in 2015, despite having no prior political experience. She quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the White House communications director in 2017. She left the White House in 2018.
