Shakib Al Hasan Sets the Record for Oldest Player to Score 1,000 Runs and Take 200 Wickets in ODIs

Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan has added another feather to his cap by becoming the oldest cricketer to achieve the feat of 1,000 runs and 200 wickets in One Day Internationals (ODIs).

The 37-year-old, 181-day-old all-rounder reached the milestone during Bangladesh's second match against Afghanistan in the ongoing ODI series.

Shakib, who has been a mainstay of the Bangladesh team for over two decades, achieved the milestone in his 224th ODI, surpassing the previous record held by Pakistan's Shahid Afridi, who was 37 years and 119 days old when he reached the landmark.

Shakib's achievement is a testament to his longevity and consistency at the international level. The all-rounder is currently ranked as the number one ODI all-rounder in the world, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of his generation.

Shakib's record-breaking performance comes at a time when Bangladesh is enjoying a resurgence in cricket. The team recently won a historic Test series against India, and is currently ranked sixth in the ODI rankings.
